So it looks like i have enough people to start this challenge. Basically i give you an ingredient. you research it, and design a character inspired by that ingredient, and its history. not only will you have an awesome new OC. but you may learn a bit about a common ingredient that you didn't know. I will feature all completed challenge entries on my journal so that's an added bonus.

This Challenge is about creativity and fun. ingredients are all randomly selected from my giant red cook book of recipes ranging from hot pots to deserts. you could get a spice, a fruit, a herb or a meat.

How i will choose your ingredient
To keep it fair I'm making the selection random. What I've done is written a list of randomly selected ingredients from my cooking books, then numbered them from 1 to 60. Each person who wants to take part will choose 3 numbers out of the ones still not claimed in order of preference. (just in case someone else has picked that number but i havent had a chance to indicate it) This will go by a first come first serve policy. after your number has been assigned i will tell you what ingredient you will be working with and a like to Wikipedia so you can immediately start finding out all that's interesting about it.

Feel free to give me a pm anyway. your entries will also be featured in a separate list. this challenge is about inspiring you to be creative and is meant to be fun. so im not going to cramp your style and i want to see what you do. Im sure others will to.
